An EXCELLENT Skin

These folks at MyGift rock. Simple as that. The skin, while a LITTLE tricky to apply, is still easier to apply than a thousand other similar products I have tried. This is thanks mainly to the fact that, while a very good adhesive, it allows you to peal off and reapply without leaving a residue or losing its grip. It looks VERY sharp and have gotten endless compliments about it, as well as the two controller skins I bought. It adds a level of customization that allows your PS3 to truly be yours and the quality as well as MyGift themselves is going to have me come back for more in the future.On a side note, two extremely MINOR issues that should be addressed:One, The skin comes in three parts, the main body and two strips for the two front sections. If you ever plan to use your PS3's power-off and eject buttons then either expect to have to peal back the one strip to have it register or buy a skin that doesn't lose anything by leaving off that strip. Due to the skin, the console won't know you are pressing anything otherwise.Two, do not expect this skin to withstand alot of abuse. It is really good, no doubt about it. However, I transport my PS3 alot and as a result some of the corners are starting to pull away. Nothing major, just don't expect this to withstand a lot of transport.If you can afford it, get yourself a skin. Better yet, get a couple.....you won't regret it.

So fun! Choose 3-packs wisely.

I don't play Wii, but when my son was shopping with his birthday money, we saw Skylanders, and I said, "I think you need that!" I thought it was so cool (still do). The Starter Pack gives you 1 Magic, 1 Water, and 1 Tech. Naturally you "need" at least ONE guy from each Element. You can certainly buy characters individually, but it's cheaper to buy the Packs. If you choose two 3-packs carefully, you get 1 guy from each element, plus an extra Magic guy.If you get THIS (reviewing) 3-pack (Eruptor/ChopChop/Bash) PLUS Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Triple Character Pack (Wrecking Ball, Stealth Elf, Sonic Boom) you cover all the Elements for cheaper than buying them separately. After that, you can add in other characters as your kid likes, but this allows them to unlock all the areas.I bought the two 3-packs, but opened the packages & re-wrapped each guy separately. My son can "earn" a new (surprise) guy each week by good behavior and cheerful helpfulness. He got Chop Chop yesterday, and was thrilled to add an Undead to his team, after a week of only the 3 original Elements. He has 5 more Saturdays worth of guys (assuming he's nice), then he can select/earn add-on guys on his own. I felt that deferring the collection of characters makes it more anticipatory and stretches out the fun!

Fun characters for a Skylander army

This package contains 3 fun additions to any Skylander collection.Eruptor is a ranged/area effect based Skylander. He throws lava blobs at range and can erupt to cover the area around him in lava for a couple of seconds.His upgrade paths with either increase the range, power and add an explosion radius to his lava globs or increase the execution speed and power of his eruption and cause it spawn volcanoes.Chop Chop is a melee based Skylander. He uses a sword to attack and can defend himself and attack with his shield.He gains a ranged "bone bramble" attack that sends a wave of spiked bones bursting out of the ground in a straight path ahead of him.His upgrade paths either enhance the power of his sword attacks or adds additional counter attacks after an enemy strikes his shield and allows him to stun enemies.Bash is a mobile, melee based Skylander. He strikes with his tail and can roll through enemies. He is later able create a pillar of stone in front of him to defend and can strike it with his tail to crush it, using the resulting debis as a ranged projectile.His Upgrade paths will increase the speed and power of his rolling attack or the power and abilities of his tail strikes.

Well worth the money

To start with I'm a old school gamer and like games I can hold in my hands. I know sometime soon games like this will no longer be around. Anyway, this was a great addition to the game Skylanders. At first I thought the game would not be that great but soon found out it was one of the better games I have played in a long time. I love you can switch characters right in the middle of a battle and a bonus you can play your character on any other game system (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii & 3DS) and PC.The game is expensive if you buy all the Skylanders but you really only need eight characters (one of each element) you can finish the game. So you get three when you buy the game you need to buy five more to finish the game. Most people go a little nuts and buy all the Skylander characters for the kids no matter what it cost. I think it's a little crazy when people pay $50, $100 or $150 for Skylander character when it will be $10 or less a few months later. I have all but Wham-Shell and have not paid more then $10 for any of them. I just waited a month or so until buying them. Skylander Adventurer Packs I didn't pay any more then $20. If people pay $50 for one they are just feeding the market for higher prices. Even Toys-R-Us is jumping on the bandwagon and charging $10 for Skylander characters and $25 for Adventurer Packs. Retail price should be $9 for Skylander characters and $20 for Adventurer Packs. People if you don't buy the Skylander characters and Adventurer Packs at that high prices the stores will think they are going to eat the product and drop the price.Well I'm getting off my soapbox. Hope this helps someone.

Compatible...that kind of way, and about the vibration, better forget!

After paying the money that I have payed for this seat, I have to say that I expected more.The seat itself is ok. I find it comfortable, it holds the wheel firmly, and you can adjust the distance of the pedals and the wheel. The integrated sound is fine as well, although to me it doesn't bring an awful lot. You could play with your earphones and you would be alright. But then, all the other components have, in a higher or lower degree, some sort of issue.The main thing for me is the vibration. It is so disappointing that, if I had known beforehand how it was going to be, I would have not bought this seat. I decided to go for the SV seat after getting my Logitech G27 and experiencing for the first time the great immersion feeling that its force-feedback provides. I thought that extending that feeling to the seat would be the closest you can be to a real driving experience. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as when I was assembling the seat, I found out that the vibration is not syncronized to the game, but simply connected to the bass. Not only that, the seat has only one pattern of vibration. Overall, better forget about any kind of immersion into the game from this side.Then, we can talk about the platform for the pedals. It looks very compatible with the G27, as it has the same size and the same holes that the pedals. However, if you assemble them in this way, the bar that holds the wheel falls exactly in front of the brake pedal, which means that you would be hitting the bar with your leg every time you want to press the brake. Fortunately, there is one additional hole in the platform, a little out of the center, and you can screw the pedals there in a way that the bar falls between the brake and the clutch and it doesn't bother. However, by doing so, you assemble the pedals with just one bolt, so you have to keep it tight to prevent them from moving when playing.And finally, another big issue is the "compatible" gearshift holder. My God, I can't believe that the seat and the gearshift are made by the same company! It is a complete disaster! You have to unscrew one bolt of the seat to stick the gearshift and then screw it back, but it becomes so unaccessible once you have put the gearshift that screwing it back took me hours, trying to setup adaptors from my home tools to my Allen to reach it. Not only that, once I finished with this piece, I proceeded to insert what would be the actual support of the gear, only to find out that the subwoofer under the sit acts as a barrier and does not allow it to go to the end, what means that I can't reach the gears keeping my back in the seat!After all, I kind of sorted the issues (except the vibration; there is nothing to do there) and I am having good fun, but the bottom line is that the extra money I paid for this seat, compared with the other standard ones in the market without sound or vibration, is not worth at all.

It is good!

I was looking at this seat asking myself are the built in speakers worth it? I mean, I have a fantastic Denon/Polk sound system already. But what I was really interested in was a self contained system that could be placed anywhere without depending on a separate sound system. I first connected it to my home theater system, using my 55" TV as the monitor. This bypassed the seat's sound system, so I could make an honest comparison with the seat's self contained sound versus home theater sound. After hearing the two setups, I preferred the Playseat SV sound experience to the HT setup. It definitely was more immersive, as advertised. Close proximity to the speakers allows you to experience all the subtle sounds along with well, more immersion.I like the wheel platform coming from the chair the SV model uses - I had no obstacle problem of moving my foot from accelerator to brake some have complained about when the platform is attached from the pedal side of the Playseat. The chair is comfortable, but I would appreciate building this chair with thicker foam, or even memory foam (why not, the chair is top class priced).The tubular steel supports fit together easily, and the locking mechanism holding the paired tubes together is effective. The tolerances are not exactly tight though, and I am considering tightening them slightly using the material half of Velcro. The spec for weight tolerance in this seat is another selling point (300 lbs max).If you really want another notch of game immersion, I recommend pairing this with the Playseat Pro Kit TV stand with its own monitor. It really puts that cockpit feel right into the game. This also allows you to place it anywhere you would like, as long as an electrical outlet is nearby.The Playseat SV has given me a top rate simulator gaming experience. Get you're tools out!

The gear shift mount does not work with this model without modifications(metal work). You would think that the manufacturer might test this out, but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Because the subwoofer is mounted under the seat the metal plate that attaches to the seat does not fit. Ok, so i fixed that only to find out that you can not adjust the position of the gearshift because it hits the subwoofer. The seat is great, but after paying good money for a product I do not want to waste my time fixing it so it works properly.

When you put this thing together you have to break plastic pieces near the rumble motor which pretty much makes it impossible to fit in this shell case. Don't make a mistake with this product look elsewhere.
