PS3 Tron Controller --

A few facts that need to be known about these controllers...1. PDP is the new name for the company previously known as Pelican Products. So if you remember Pelican and all the 3rd party stuff they've offered for years, you will know who you are dealing with.2. The PS3 Tron controller has all the normal features of a standard Dual Shock controller...no..that wasn't a mis-type. The PS3 Tron controller does NOT feature six-axis in it though it does have rumble. I found this out real quick with Lil Big Planet when I couldn't do my head bob and waist thrusting at the end of the level.3. My controller also has difficulty with direct left or right movements on the left analog. At first I thought it was just the right direction that wasn't quite working, and then on a different game it was the left control that wasn't quite working. Not sure what that is about but it does make it a bit more challenging when trying to play games if the controls aren't quite spot on as you might expect.With that..the controller itself is a beautiful! And it does feel better in the hands than the standard stock PS3 controller does. It also comes in nice packaging that makes it easy to put out on display. The light up effect doesn't have the outward glow like you see in the pics and is more subdued but still looks pretty cool.So.. for me this controller will strictly be used as another addition to my collection of gaming memoribilia since the controller itself doesn't really work as it should for normal use. I'm not saying the controller is broken, just that without the six-axis and the control seeming off kilter here and there it wouldn't be that much fun to play with it. I will state however, that the D-Pad on this thing is spot on (On mine anyway) and I was getting some of the best scores I've managed to get on Pac-Man Championship Edition DX...hehe

Knowingly purchased as a wired controller because I understood the power problem for the bright LEDs. Purchased because I'm a long time fan of the TRON intellectual property.The TRON PS3 controller shipped to me has deformations in the plastic controller housing's external surfaces, like the housing was still too pliable after the the injection molding and cooldown process. In typical lighting, and without looking too closely, the lack of smooth surfacing is obvious... lots of undulation. In sum total, the controller looks cheap, even though it wasn't cheap.The 3rd party market for console controllers has existed for a very long time, and I've never seen this sort of manufacturing sloppiness before even in budget-priced controllers that were meant to be cheaper than those sold by the 1st party/console manufacturer itself.Obviously, your mileage may vary. Just be aware that your own end result may be hit or miss and quality is not guaranteed.

Beautiful controller

For a collector, this is a fun controller!It lights up beautifully when hooked up to the PS3 and the grip feels a little more ergonomic than the standard PS3 controller. Buttons feel a little softer too, but whether that's a pro or a con is up to the individual gamer; personally, I like it but it's not everyone's cup of tea.The con for me, however, is that the controller is wired. Sure, the lighting is pretty and would probably drain a battery, but I would have rather been given the option of charging it more frequently than be forced to have a wired controller. It's hard-wired, too, meaning that the wire cannot be unplugged for a longer USB cord. You could try a USB extension, but I read somewhere that going longer than 10' on a USB cord is not a good idea so I'm not advocating its use.The standard PS3 controller utilizes a Li-ion battery, so I'm not sure why it wasn't used here. The Wii controller version of this, after all, IS wireless and uses AA batteries!Still, it's an awesome controller besides the cord and there are only 20,000 available (each one is numbered). Get them while you can.
